Online therapy is more and more common in the 21st century, as technology allows us to communicate more easily than ever. At IPG we’re always ahead of the curve, and we have had remote therapy capabilities in place since 2018 to conduct online psychotherapy sessions with our clients when appropriate. If you or your therapist are feeling under the weather, or you can’t get a babysitter for the kids tonight, or your car is in the shop, we can still make your therapy session happen remotely using our HIPAA-compliant, encrypted online therapy software.
How Online Therapy Works
It’s as easy as can be: your therapist will email you a link to contact them directly online, and all you have to do is copy and paste the link into a web browser on your computer or tablet, and you can connect with your therapist within seconds to begin your online psychotherapy session. No downloads, no apps, no logins required. All you need is a device with internet or data access, sound capabilities, a camera, and a microphone. Most laptops, desktop computers, tablet devices, and even smartphones are compatible. If you are an existing IPG client, please let your therapist know in advance if you would like to do an online session next time. If you are not yet an IPG client, but are interested in online therapy, please call our main office at (800)379-9220 . Or just send us a message via our Contact Us page and we can set you up with one of our therapists for your first online session.
(Note: ordinarily we prefer not to use online therapy as the primary mode of psychotherapy with our clients, except in special circumstances. But due to the recent events we are treating many of our clients remotely until further notice. If you begin online therapy sessions with an IPG therapist at this time, there is a good chance they will want you to continue therapy in person once the current situation returns to normal.)
